Welcome to The Pilgrims Way Churches

Coronavirus (Covid-19) - our buildings must close but the Church Continues to be alive and active

We are seeing a huge increase in the number of people falling sick with Covid-19. We must distance ourselves from one another and prevent the spread of infection in order to save lives. For this reason, whilst our worship of God and our care for each other continues it cannot be carried out in the Pilgrims Way Churches as all Church Buildings in the Church of England are now closed.

In these difficult times the Vicar or churchwardens of our churches can be contacted in an emergency by telephoning:

"Love the Lord your god with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all of your strength.....Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these".

To protect the vulnerable amongst our communities please remain in your home except for essential trips.

We know this is a very worrying time for many people.  In such times many people find comfort in prayer.  We believe the world desperately needs prayer in the current situation and would like to encourage you to enter into a daily rhythm of prayer with millions of others around the world.  If you would like to join us then you can find Daily Prayer resources here:

The Eucharist and Evening Prayer will be conducted by Cathedral Chapter members only and streamed online each day via this link:

There are a variety of Apps available for Smart Phones to help your personal devotions and prayers.  Find out more here:

Alternatively there are a variety of Radio Services available as follows:

  • Prayer for the Day daily at 5.43am on Radio 4
  • Sunday Worship Sundays at 8.10am on Radio 4
  • Daily Service Monday to Friday at 9.45am on Radio 4 Longwave and DAB

(The Daily Service is available on a Radio 4 DAB side channel which is automatically made available about a minute before the programme begins.  After tuning to Radio 4 DAB, select "Daily Service" (from your display) with the tuning wheel and press the selector button.  On some radios the side channel can be stored on a preset button and once it is stored there you simply need to press the preset. We recommend choosing a well established brand of DAB receiver.)
